UC 100

The UC-100 (Unit Controller - Model 100) is a self-contained microcomputer system based on the housing system of the MAN Roland interbus subassemblies. The UC-100 contains a powerpack unit, microcomputer + interfaces, interbus master subassembly and interbus interface module.

The computer has the following main features:

1. The powerpack units are electrically isolated DC-DC converters with 24VDC power supply. During power-down the SRAM memory of the microcomputer can be buffered through an integrated battery. The local INTERBUS has its own powerpack unit.

2. The system CPU is based on a MPC857T processor from the Power PC line of Motorola. It has flash EPROM, SRAM, SDRAM as memory media and a Compact Flash Card port.

3. The computer is integrated in the overall press group through an Ethernet LAN network.

4. Other interfaces are 2 x RS-232 and one RS-422 (RxD, TxD with Xon/Xoff protocol).

5. The input/output subassemblies are coupled via field bus interfaces (INTERBUS remote bus and INTERBUS local bus). An INTERBUS master subassembly including a bus terminal is integrated for this purpose.

For diagnostic purposes an LCD diagnostic display as well as a diagnostic interface (RS232) are
available.
